Join The E.W. Scripps Company as a Backend Developer, responsible for creating and enhancing application software. This role involves analyzing system requirements, collaborating with various departments, and contributing to the full lifecycle development of websites and software applications.
Responsibilities
-Collaborate cross-functionally to plan, design, and develop websites and software applications.
-Utilize technical architectures, designs, and frameworks to develop robust solutions.
-Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, deployment, and support.
-Create technical specifications and documentation, and provide training and support for applications.
-Work independently and as part of a team to develop special site features and enhance user engagement.
-Contribute to after-hours support and evaluate emerging technologies.
-Perform rigorous testing of components and systems, troubleshooting technical issues across multiple platforms and formats.
Requirements
Qualifications
-Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent practical experience.
-2+ years of experience in full lifecycle software development.
-3+ years of technical experience in interactive media or related online business fields.
Skills and Experience
-Proficiency in coding, web development, and database management.
-Experience with version control software for code and configuration management.
-Strong technical knowledge in software application development, technical operations, and information security.
-Ability to manage multiple tasks with effective organization and project management skills.
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proven ability to build relationships and work collaboratively.
-Creative problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to troubleshooting and issue resolution.
