We’re looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our Developer User Experience (DUX) team. This role is pivotal in shaping our developer ecosystem to deliver speed, quality, and satisfaction for over 150 engineers.
What You’ll Do:
-Optimize Development Lifecycle: Implement quantitative and qualitative metrics to enhance engineering efficiency and satisfaction.
-Innovate with a Product-Centric Approach: Introduce cutting-edge tools and methodologies to elevate backend engineering effectiveness.
-Contribute to Open Source: Collaborate on patches and enhancements for popular projects like GHC, GHCi, Persistent, and Nixpkgs.
-Drive Scalability: Develop novel solutions to maintain productivity in our extensive Haskell codebase, often contributing back to the community.
-Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with product teams to refine tools and gain firsthand insights into customer needs.
Who We’re Looking For:
-Experience: 3+ years in backend development, with a deep understanding of the stack and a track record in delivering impactful features.
-Passion for Enablement: Dedicated to improving engineering velocity and satisfaction through strategic investments and iterative improvements.
-Customer-Centric: Responsive to user feedback, driving decisions to enhance iteration speed and overall engineering experience.
-Problem-Solver: Comfortable navigating complex domains, adept at articulating technical strategies to build consensus and alignment.
-Empathetic Team Player: Respectful and empathetic, fostering collaboration and seeking diverse perspectives to resolve challenges.

-Scalable Platforms: Experience on teams supporting large-scale operations, understanding the dynamics of growth from small to large teams.
-Functional Programming: Proficiency in Haskell or other functional languages, leveraging their strengths in your engineering practice.
-Infrastructure Skills: Familiarity with Nix, NixOs, Nix Packages, and other infrastructure management tools.
-Open Source Contributions: Active engagement with open source communities, successfully contributing patches and enhancements.
