In this remote-first role, you’ll be a Senior Machine Learning Engineer, playing a key role in:

• Building powerful financial tools: Develop and maintain the core machine learning and data analysis systems that power Tala’s services.
• Empowering users: Create user-friendly tools to help data scientists and analysts explore data, build models, and deliver results quickly.
• Ensuring quality and reliability: Implement robust systems with unit testing, automation, and monitoring to guarantee top performance.
• Collaboration is key: Work closely with product, data, credit, and business development teams to deliver impactful solutions.

Are you a perfect fit?

• You have 5+ years of experience building backend software for large-scale consumer applications, with at least 4 years using Python.
• You’re an expert in real-time data streaming technologies like Kafka, Kinesis, Beam, Flink, and Spark Streaming.
• You have a proven track record of building and deploying machine learning models to solve real-world business problems.
• You’re proficient in popular machine learning tools like Jupyter, Pandas, Scikit-Learn, Xgboost, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Hugging Face.
• You have a strong understanding of both relational and non-relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Cassandra, HDFS, Snowflake, Druid).
• You’re a cloud computing pro with experience in AWS, GCP, Azure, and Kubernetes.
• You’ve built APIs for mobile and web applications (REST, GraphQL, gRPC, Protocol Buffers).
• You have excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with diverse teams.
• You’re passionate about innovation and using technology to make a positive impact.
