About the Role
GoFundMe is looking for a Senior Accountant to join our accounting team. Reporting to the Senior Accounting Manager, you will play a critical role in financial reporting, managing accounting systems, and driving process improvements. This is an opportunity to make a real-world impact with your skills and join a passionate team.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting Systems:
Design, configure, optimize, and maintain key accounting systems to enhance team efficiency while ensuring compliance and reporting integrity.
Reporting:
Manage the preparation of the month-end financial package and quarterly external reporting deliverables.
Assist with balance sheet and P&L flux analyses.
Process Improvements:
Implement and scale internal control processes and document departmental procedures.
Identify and drive optimization initiatives to improve efficiency.
Audit and Statutory Support:
Act as a key liaison for external audits by preparing supporting schedules, locating documents, and responding to inquiries.
General Ledger:
Prepare monthly journal entries for technical accounting areas, including goodwill/intangibles, leases, and debt.
Collaboration:
Work closely with external teams and contribute to other departments’ goals as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA preferred; experience at a Big Four firm is a plus.
- 4+ years of combined accounting experience, including with a publicly traded or pre-
- IPO company.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SOX compliance.
- Experience with an ERP system; NetSuite is a plus.
- Advanced MS Excel skills.
- Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Positive attitude and ability to work across all levels of management and functions.
