Block is now looking for a talented Senior Product Designer to join their UI Systems team.

The Opportunity

This is a remote-friendly position (US/Canada) where you’ll play a key role in building and maintaining Block’s central design system, Market. Market is used across all of Block’s merchant and customer-facing products, ensuring a unified and seamless user experience.

Responsibilities

-Design and develop reusable UI components, libraries, and design patterns for the Market design system
-Collaborate with designers, brand designers, engineers, and program managers to improve the design system and its adoption across product teams
-Ensure the design system is scalable, functional, and aligns with Block’s overall brand identity
-Partner with product teams to educate them on the design system and best practices
-Continuously iterate and improve the design system based on user feedback and industry trends

Qualifications

-8+ years of experience in product design, with 3+ years focused on design systems
-Proven track record of building and maintaining large-scale design systems
-Experience collaborating effectively across cross-functional teams
-Strong communication and interpersonal skills
-In-depth understanding of design principles and best practices
-Proficiency in design tools like Figma or Sketch
-(Bonus points) Experience with design handoff and collaboration tools
-(Bonus points) Basic understanding of front-end development concepts
