Backend Developer (Java/Spring) – Remote US (Contract) at ECS

The Opportunity
We’re looking for a talented Backend Developer to join our remote team! You’ll develop and consume web APIs, design and build software applications, and ensure efficient data storage and retrieval.
Responsibilities
- Develop RESTful APIs using Java and Spring
- Work within containerized microservices architectures (Kubernetes, OpenShift, AWS EKS)
- Create API documentation (Swagger, OpenAPI)
- Write comprehensive JavaDocs
- Design and develop database systems (SQL & NoSQL)
- Work with scalable search technologies (ElasticSearch, Solr)
- Experience with Business Objects Enterprise (BOE) and JBoss EAP a plus
Technical Skills
- Java development (JDK 1.8 & 11): MVC, concurrency, security, JPA, JUnit
- Spring Framework experience (MVC, Boot, WebFlux, Cloud, Security)
- Experience with relational & NoSQL databases
- (e.g. Oracle, Postgres, MongoDB, DynamoDB)
- DevOps tools (Maven, Jenkins, SonarQube, Git)
Bonus Points
- Experience with Swagger, OpenAPI, and Splunk
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
Benefits
- Competitive salary range: $91,000 – $161,000 per year
