Position: Staff Accountant
Location: Denver, CO
Type: Full-Time, Monday – Friday (REMOTE)
Compensation: Competitive base salary & year-end performance bonus

Chamberlain Advisors is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant for a direct client. This role will partner closely with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to manage general accounting functions, including AP/AR, financial statement analysis, inventory management, and adherence to GAAP. The Staff Accountant will be integral in the financial close process and external audits, ensuring consistent financial reporting and controls across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and review general ledger activity and reconcile accounts.
  • Research non-routine accounting issues and post adjusting entries as needed.
  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close tasks.
  • Support AP/AR and Purchasing staff with coding accuracy and documentation.
  • Implement and propose accounting process improvements to streamline workflows.
  • Assist with accounting projects, including ERP system implementations, compliance, and internal controls.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial closings.
  • Provide documentation for financial statement audits and other regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2-3 years of accounting experience.
  • Experience in AP/AR and full-cycle accounting processes.
  • Proficiency in general ledger, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
  • Strong knowledge of financial statements and GAAP principles.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, SUMIFS) and familiarity with ERP systems.
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Maintain confidentiality and integrity regarding sensitive information.
