Position Overview

Praetorian is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accountant ready to take the next step in their career as a Senior Accountant. With a proven track record in accounting and financial operations in high-growth environments, this position is pivotal to the company’s success. Reporting to the Senior Corporate Controller, you’ll oversee day-to-day accounting operations and help maintain the financial health of the company. Core Responsibilities

Prepare month-end close entries to ensure General Ledger postings are complete within a 3-day deadline, adhering to accounting principles.
Manage all balance sheet reconciliations and handle discrepancies with third-party relationships.
Review and research payroll.
Review and approve company expense reports.
Collaborate with external CPA firms on state and federal income tax filings.
Manage state franchise and sales tax filings.
Assist with year-end audit preparation and analysis.
Track, manage, and audit actuals against budgets.
Investigate budget and variance issues.
Implement new accounting guidelines and standards as necessary.
Streamline accounting systems and processes for greater efficiency and accuracy.

Required Qualifications

3+ years of corporate accounting experience.
CPA certification or on track to obtain CPA.
Experience in high-growth startups or small teams.
Familiarity with employee reimbursement software.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and other accounting, auditing, and legal standards.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field from a tier-one institution.

Desired Qualifications

Experience in public accounting.
Proficiency in revenue reconciliation in professional services.
Background in SaaS or professional services companies.
Familiarity with QuickBooks, NetSuite, and MacOS.
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
Experience with reconciliation across multiple subsidiaries and countries.
Located in Eastern or Central time zones.
